ELUSIVE FEMALE OF BANDHAVGARH....!!!

This  Tigress is know as Suki-pathiha female ....of Magdhi Zone....at Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve... Spotting of this female is difficult becose of the terrain and the vast area it covers....Not many people have spotted this Tigress.

Me and my friend were lucky to spot this one as we were returning late in the evening....she was sitting in the bush and decided to cross the road....We parked our Gypsy at safe distance....Then she came out of the bush...walking with authoritative stride....she stood for a moment and gave us this classic stare....I have the entire sequence of her walk across the road....then she disappeared into the thick foliage...

Oh what a sighting it was...we were only 2 of us for the entire forest....except for the guide and driver.

SQUIRREL.....!!

Squirrel  are most commonly seen and almost a house hold pet...They are one of the most agile and best surviving species...Their ability to climb, run and hide are their hallmark of survival...Very furry and soft...They are very cute...They also get to mention in our mythology.

DROP @ THE TIP.....!!

Innocent look on the face of this Open billed Stork....check out the water drop at the tip of its beak...They are such adorable birds....

HOOD SCARE....!!!

Spectacle Head cobra are the common cobra....having a spectacle like marking on their back of their hood...They spread the hood when in danger and is a posture taken when its about to strike...they stand about a foot or two tall and the bite will be death knell....

They are no threat unless you step on them...they strike in defense...Usually it is the victim of sense less mankind who either over worship or kill it due to the shear fear of its potent venom...

PERFECT FLIGHT DYNAMICS...!!

For a long time Man is attempting to fly like a bird....and has succeeded  to a great extent....But no where near these natural flight Machines....Their agility and aerodynamic construction ....are no match for the man made machines....Once again Salute to the Mother nature...

PAINTED STORK PORTRAIT....!!

Painted Storks  are large Birds with lots of colors...Their long orangish beak and wrinkled orange head...

LET'S WAIT....!! MOM'S GETTING FOOD....!!

These young one of Heron...were waiting on the edge of the rocks for their mother to get some food early morning...It was rather facinating and touching to see this bondage and love to upbring the young ones.

Its a beautiful bird with contrast colors.....aggressively defends its space....!!! check the horizon in its eyes...

JUVENILE EGRET....!!

Juvenile Egrets are treat to watch. Like any young Bird they are very cute...Especially these Egrets have colorful Beaks, spiked head and chest feathers....They are very active and always waiting to be fed....

PORTRAIT OF A CORMORANT.

Cormorants are mainly found near water bodies, rivers & lakes...Basically waders, you can often find them sitting on the rocks spreading their wings to dry. They are very meticulous in grooming their feathers devoid them of algae and insects. Little DIFFICULT TO PHOTOGRAPH & GET FEATHER DETAILS DUE THEIR DARK COLORS.

GREY HERON...!!!

Resident, passage migrant and winter visitor. In flight , black flight feathers contrast with Grey upper wing and under wing-coverts. Adults has yellow bill, whitish head and neck with black head plumes, and black patches on belly. In breeding season, has whitish scapular plumes and bill and legs become orange or reddish, Immature has dark cap with variable crest, and greyer neck, has reduced black on belly.
