COPPERSMITH BARBET...!!
One of the most colorful Barbets in its family. Some thought for the designers.
EURASIAN SPOONBILL, UP & CLOSE...!!
The cherry red-eyes and the characteristic spoon shape of its bill are its main attraction. Added to it is the breeding plumage.
ASIAN OPEN BILL STORK, DRINKING WATER...!!
It is rather funny sight to see Asian openbill Stork drinking water...Reason being half the water is spilt out during the process due to its beak construction...which is an open bill.
In the process it offers a great photographic moment.

MALABAR PIED HORNBILL, SRILANKA..!!
A wonderful bird with its unique beak structure. Looks like a double-Decker beak. Majestic in flight and fairly large bird. This was imaged in Srilanka at Yala wildlife Reserve.

ROSE RINGED PARAKEET...!!
I was busy working on my computer... a shrill note of this Parakeet in my garden almost shook me out of my focus on what i was doing...One look outside I saw this lovely fellow hopping branches in search of this particular seed. He plucked the seed, held it by beak...He slowly ripped it open to eat the seeds inside...It was nice to watch this in action ...& to photograph.

SCAVENGING.. SPOT-BILLED PELICAN..!!
Spot-billed Pelicans are fairly large birds and having more than a meter of wing span can do some acrobats in Air. Here is the image taken when it was scavenging for fish in water during its flight. The Back light condition hi-lites the water spray and the light thro wings.
